In 2020, Berg had the opportunity to develop a new ice rink system for the Chippewas of Rama First Nation's Mnijikaning Arena Sports Ki (MASK Arena) in Ontario. With the client’s operational priorities in mind, Berg’s refrigeration experts supplied a custom designed built-up ammonia ice rink refrigeration system that matched the client’s needs and requirements.
The upgrade included the replacement of their existing ice rink cooling system including an ice rink chiller with two ice rink compressors, an evaporative condenser, an Alfa Laval plate and frame heat exchanger, and a new electrical panel. Berg also supplied a new and improved ice rink controller, allowing for ultimate ice rink temperature control.
Berg’s ice rink refrigeration specialists conducted the start-up and installation of the system. To date, Berg Industrial Service regularly maintains the ice rink system to ensure that their ice is always at its best.
